The classic Grandma way: Juggle the yolk between the shells.

Too lazy? Just use your hands. Let the white flow through your fingers. Bonus: There's no chance of a shell puncturing the yolk.

Not for you? Use a water bottle. Crack the egg into a cup.

Squeeze the water bottle and position it so it’s just barely touching the yolk.

Stop squeezing and watch suction work.

Magic!

Slide the yolk into a second cup.

Got a bunch of eggs to separate? Use a colander. Put it on top of the bowl you want the whites to go into. Crack your egg into the colander.

And let gravity take care of it for you.
