How to Make a Bow with Fondant

Turn your holiday cake into a gorgeous present with this step-by-step guide to creating a fondant bow.

Step 1

Start with some fondant, whatever color you’d like.

Step 2

Roll it out to an even thickness.

Step 3

Then slice it into a rectangle.

Step 4

Slice it into strips …

Step 5

… and fold each strip into a teardrop shape, like the loop of a bow.

Step 6

Make a series of smaller loops …

Step 7

… and a few even smaller ones.

Step 8

Add a dab of fondant to the end of each loop to work as "glue."

Step 9

Arrange the biggest ones in a circle.

Step 10

Then, start attaching the medium-sized ones on top …

Step 11

… until they’re all on.

Step 12

Finally, attach the smallest ones on top of those. You'll end up with a beautiful bow!
