How to Roll Rugelach Like a Pro

Making a bunch of rugelach for the holidays? Here's how you roll them like a champion.

Step 1

Roll out your dough to an even round.

Step 2

Spread out your filling in a doughnut shape on top. Experiment with different combinations of fruit and nuts, like this raspberry jam filling with hazelnuts. 

Step 3

Use a pizza roller or long knife to slice the dough …

Step 4

 … into evenly sized wedges.

Step 5

Separate them enough so that you have room to work.

Step 6

Then, starting from the center, roll each one back …

Step 7

… nice and easy.

Step 8

Keep going until all of your cookies have been rolled. Then bake.
